Breakup Energy

Humans have discovered four fundamental forces in the universe:

  1. Gravity
  2. Electromagnetism
  3. Strong nuclear force
  4. Weak nuclear force

Later on, we realized that these four forces alone couldn’t explain everything.

We discovered two missing components:

  1. Matter particles (quarks and leptons)
  2. Higgs boson
The theory of everything formula is incomplete.

But even these forces combined could not explain certain phenomena.

We observe that under certain conditions, humans can break free from the constraints of these forces and create a new type of energy.

This energy is so powerful that it puts into question whether the other forces even exist.

It is difficult to study this force in a lab, because it is impossible to artificially create.

We know it exists though. Scientists have documented its distinctive signatures.

3 a.m. runs through empty streets.

Punching bags reduced to tatters.

Holes in the dry wall.

Feats of strength thought impossible days prior.

Levels of productivity unexplainable by the known forces.

Some of the initial conditions include bruised ego, unexpected abandonment, and betrayal. Demon-like levels of malice act as a catalyst.

We hereby propose the term “breakup energy” to describe this phenomenon, adding it to our collective theory of everything.

The theory of everything formula is incomplete.

If you have experienced this force yourself, you have no doubt regarding its existence.

If you are lucky enough to be experiencing this force right now, do not waste it.

You’ll feel like it will always be there. But it won’t.

It will eventually pass through you. And you won’t be able to bring it back.

This energy behaves like radioactive decay—we can’t predict exactly when it will disappear, but we know it has a half-life.

Some people get days. Some get weeks. The lucky bastards get months.

But this decay doesn’t negotiate. It follows its own timeline, indifferent to your schedule or readiness.

Every hour you spend bitching, replaying, and relitigating the past is converting the energy to resentment instead of results (pathetic).

So don’t waste it. Embrace it.

Go for a run and transform the energy into cardiovascular fitness.

Go to the gym and transform the energy into muscle mass.

Go to work and transform the energy into your bottom line.

Then when the energy is gone, a hazy memory at best, you’ll still have remnants of its existence.

The body you built, the skills you sharpened, the income you earned—permanent trophies from an ephemeral reaction.

The clock is ticking.

When you’re going through hell, keep going.
